I'm Back — Starting Fresh
A new season, a new handle, and a garden that’s a little behind — but full of promise.
Hi again,
You might’ve noticed I disappeared for a while. I didn’t mean to vanish — I was just trying to get everything sorted with my online accounts, and, well… I completely mucked it up.
I wanted everything to match across YouTube, Instagram, and Substack — same name, same image, same feel. Simple, right? Except somewhere along the way, I locked myself out of both YouTube and Substack. I think it had to do with an old email address I used, but honestly, I’m not even sure anymore. If I knew what happened, I wouldn’t be in this mess.
So here I am, starting over.
I’ve now set everything up under one name — Herbalist’s Cottage — across all three platforms. But in the process, I’ve lost all my old connections. I’m hoping to reconnect with those of you who subscribed before and also find the folks I used to follow.
Since I last wrote, life has changed in big ways — I’ve fully retired, and I’m in a totally new phase/season of life. There’s been a lot of adjustment and letting go, but now I finally have the time and space to dive back in — both in the garden and online. I’ve been so behind in the garden this year and last, but now I’m excited to get back into it. I’m also open to trying Substack and YouTube and learning/keeping up with technology as a side hobby.
This Substack, I’m hoping, will be like an old-fashioned blog — a quiet, honest diary of everyday life, grounded in the seasons. I’ll share projects, herbal knowledge, small struggles, and the simple joys of daily tasks from the garden, the kitchen, and the She Shed. It’s free to read and comment on, and I’m so grateful for anyone who finds their way here again.
Coming up next:
I’m thinking of starting a Full Moon Garden tour tradition, where each Full Moon day I take you around the garden. It’s behind and a bit messy, but I think that’s part of the beauty. I’m excited to show you where I’m starting from.
Thank you for being here — and maybe for finding me again. I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment below to tell me where you're from and what part of your world you’re living in. Let’s reconnect and share our journeys.
Love,
Leanne
